Pathways to Value-Promoting Value Analysis in Western Canada - February

On February 9, 2017, Value Analysis Canada – Western Group hosted its regular monthly dinner presentation featuring a talk by Holly Parkis, a project manager with SMA Consulting.

Through a close examination of multiple studies on brainstorming techniques and creativity, Ms. Parkis touched on various applications of creativity, presented some key brainstorming techniques, listed major problems associated with brainstorming, and outlined seven principles to improve a brainstorming session in a value analysis workshop. Most importantly, Ms. Parkis shared some tips on improving the quality of a brainstorming session.

The event took place at the Fantasyland Hotel at West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton. More than a dozen attendees from provincial and municipal governments, as well as professionals and students, came out to the event.
