The
Value Engineering Workshop is a design course in Mechanical Engineering at McGill University. It is a project course whose purpose is to have students work with engineers from industry on an industry problem in order to design a product or to improve value in a manufacturing process. The course is equivalent to Module I of value specialist training.
As part of project reporting, the students make a presentation showing their improved designs and how the value engineering methodology helped their efforts. In November 2007, presentations were scheduled as part of a conference held by the Canadian Society for Value Analysis (CSVA) at the Montreal Hilton Airport Hotel. There were six presentations -- four of these presentations are available on the SCAV-CSVA website.
