VAC featured at Best Practices Showcase

The Canadian Society for Value Analysis was featured at the APMG-International, Best Practices Showcase, Tuesday, February 7, 2012 in Ottawa. The theme of the day was “Improving Project Performance and Optimizing Financial Value”.

CSVA was recognized as a sponsor of the event.  President Lucie Parrot, and Past Presidents Steve Taylor and Ted Lane introduced  the CSVA, and  the benefits of Value Analysis to many of the more than 100 project managers in attendance.

This was APMG-International's first Best Practices Showcase in Canada, following successful events in Britain and Australia. APMG certifies project managers in the use of the British Office of Government Commerce (OGC) project, portfolio, and program management tools and methodologies. The OGC's suite of project management tools include the Management of Value guide, MoV™ as was presented by the publication's lead author, Michael Dallas at the CSVA's 2011 Annual Conference in Toronto. Michael was back in Canada to introduce MoV™ to the Best Practices Showcase participants. The inclusion of Value Analysis as an integral component of the OGC methodologies means that hundreds of Canadian Project Managers will be exposed to Value Analysis as the use of these tools expands. CSVA looks forward to working with Michael Dallas and APMG-International towards expanding the understanding and use of the Value Methodologies in Canada.
